PI signs agreement to develop phygital in UAE

The Ministry of Sports has signed an agreement with ASPIRE and Phygital International to support the growth of phygital sports in the UAE.

The agreement was signed during the Phygital Sports Summit in Abu Dhabi, held alongside the Games of the Future 2025. It creates a simple plan for the three organisations to work together on future sports projects.

Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Sports. He said the partnership will help develop young talent, encourage innovation, and support the UAE’s goal of becoming a leading centre for future and technology-based sports.

WPC unveils new governance system

The World Phygital Community (WPC), the global body for phygital sport, has launched a new blockchain system to manage governance and data.

This system makes decisions, votes, and records secure, transparent, and fair for all member countries. It was first used at the WPC General Meeting in Abu Dhabi in December 2025.

WPC is also developing a blockchain-based system for recording phygital competition results, ensuring that outcomes, rankings, and performance data are permanently verifiable and can’t be changed.

This helps build trust as phygital sport grows worldwide, now with 119 members in 115 countries.
